Job Description:

The Alexander, a luxurious hotel located on Miami Beach's iconic 5225 Collins Ave, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Hotel Events Department as an Event Planner. As an Event Planner, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating a wide range of events, including but not limited to weddings, corporate meetings, social gatherings, and conventions.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements and objectives.

2. Assist clients in selecting appropriate event spaces within the hotel.

3. Plan and execute all aspects of events, including event timelines, budgets, vendors, menu selection, decor, and audiovisual requirements.

4. Coordinate and communicate event details with all relevant hotel departments to ensure smooth operations.

5. Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the planning and execution stages of events.

6. Conduct site visits and assist in conducting promotional tours to potential clients.

7. Stay updated with current industry trends and propose innovative ideas to enhance the event experience.

8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of event details, contracts, and financial records.

9. Conduct post-event evaluations and gather client feedback to improve future events.

10. Assist with other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Hotel Events Manager.

Requirements:

- Previous experience as an event planner or coordinator in a hotel or similar hospitality setting is highly preferred.

- Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office applications.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Knowledge of local vendors and suppliers is an asset.

- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
